Here’s a brief and extremely modest account of new actions we have initiated in the last two days. Each person in our household has come up with a simple personal teaching plan. Our actions ranged from dawn prayers; praying for our neighbour and then writing out a prayer with the intention to say it every day for them; starting a conversation and setting up regular times to come help with a local growing project; taking out a map and planning out where to invite a friend for a walk; deepening on the summer school materials, consulting about how to invite a friend (JY) out for a walk with their dog. The photos were taken just before sundown today and the midges were bad, so I went out on my own. They show where I’ve been sitting under the silver fir, to say prayers for our neighbours. Cabin & workshop are shown in background of the last pic—so that’s us. Our plan is to keep doing something small every day...love Arlette
That's my favourite story about the Early American Baha'i's. You tell it well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great example of how to tell a moving story from the heart using mobile phone to record it, and it little imaginative thinking to add depth and atmosphere by varying the locations, and including the chicken was genius! I hope John enjoyed telling it - he's a real star!
ReplyDeleteGood story :-D
